FlowState comes with a variety of drum kits suited for different genres. Changing kits instantly swaps all your drum sounds while keeping your pattern intact.
How to Change Kits

Open the Drums panel
Click "Drums" in the bottom panel or press 1. -
Find the kit selector
Look for the dropdown menu at the top of the drum machine (shows current kit name). -
Choose a new kit
Click the dropdown and select from the available kits. -
Preview immediately
Your pattern plays with the new sounds instantly.
Available Drum Kits
TR-808
The legendary Roland TR-808. Deep, boomy kicks and crispy snares.
- Best for: Trap, hip-hop, R&B
- Character: Deep sub bass kicks, punchy snares, sizzling hats
TR-909
The classic house and techno machine.
- Best for: House, techno, EDM
- Character: Punchy kicks, bright snares, distinctive hats
SP-1200
The gritty sampler sound of golden-era hip-hop.
- Best for: Boom bap, lo-fi, classic hip-hop
- Character: Crunchy, lo-fi, warm and dusty
Acoustic
Real drum kit samples for natural sound.
- Best for: Pop, rock, jazz, live feel
- Character: Natural, dynamic, realistic
Lo-Fi
Vinyl-textured drums with that lo-fi aesthetic.
- Best for: Lo-fi hip-hop, chillhop, study beats
- Character: Dusty, warm, vintage
Trap
Modern trap-focused sounds with hard-hitting 808s.
- Best for: Trap, drill, modern hip-hop
- Character: Hard, aggressive, distorted
Swapping Individual Sounds
You can also change individual drum sounds without swapping the whole kit:
- Right-click on a drum pad
- Choose "Replace Sound"
- Browse or search for a new sample
- The new sound replaces just that pad
Tip: Mix and match! Use an 808 kick with acoustic snares, or a lo-fi hat pattern with a punchy trap kick.

Saving Custom Kits
After customizing individual sounds, save your kit:
- Click the kit menu
- Choose "Save Kit As..."
- Name your custom kit
- It appears in your kit list for future use
