FlowState automatically saves your work so you never lose progress. Your projects are stored in the cloud, accessible from any device, with offline backup on your computer.
Auto-Save
FlowState saves automatically:
- Changes save every few seconds
- No need to manually save while working
- Look for the save indicator in the header
- A checkmark means everything is saved
Never lose work: FlowState's auto-save means you can close your browser anytime. When you return, your project will be exactly as you left it.
Manual Save
You can also save manually:
- Press Cmd/Ctrl+S
- Or use the menu: File → Save
This immediately syncs your project to the cloud.

Creating a New Project

Click "New Project"
From the home screen or File menu. -
Name your project
Give it a descriptive name. -
Set initial tempo (optional)
Choose the BPM for your project. -
Start creating
Your project is automatically saved as you work.
Opening Existing Projects

Go to the home screen
Click the FlowState logo or use File → Open. -
Browse your projects
See all your saved projects listed. -
Click to open
Select the project you want to work on.
Renaming Projects
- Click the project name in the header
- Type the new name
- Press Enter to save
Duplicating Projects
Create a copy to experiment without affecting the original:
- Open the project menu (click project name)
- Select "Duplicate"
- A copy is created with "(Copy)" added to the name
- Work on the copy freely
Tip: Duplicate your project before making major changes. This gives you a "snapshot" to return to if needed.
Deleting Projects
- Go to the home screen
- Find the project you want to delete
- Click the menu icon (⋯) on the project
- Select "Delete"
- Confirm deletion
Deleted projects may be recoverable for a short period.
Working Offline
FlowState works even without internet:
- Projects are cached locally
- Keep working normally
- Changes sync when you reconnect
- You'll see an offline indicator
Project Settings
Each project has settings you can adjust:
- Tempo (BPM) — Speed of the project
- Time signature — Usually 4/4
- Project name — Displayed in the header

Troubleshooting
Save Failed
- Check your internet connection
- Try saving manually with Cmd/Ctrl+S
- Your work is still saved locally
- It will sync when connection returns

- Refresh the page
- Check your internet connection
- Try again in a few moments
